All property is to be appraised uniformly and at 100% of the value. The WCAD is also responsible for administering tax exemptions as required by law and adopted by the taxing entities. The appraised property values as set by the WCAD are used by the taxing entities in setting tax rates for their jurisdictions. Williamson County Appraisal District Board of Directors This 5-member board sets policies for the Williamson County Appraisal District (WCAD) and hires the chief appraiser, currently Bill Carroll. The board also approves the WCAD annual budget which is funded by pro-rated assessments of the taxing entities in the county. The directors serve 2-year, unpaid terms that begin on January 1 of even-numbered years. The current terms are not staggered and expire December 31, 2001. The ARB is appointed by the WCAD Board of Directors from nominations submitted by the taxing entities. ARB members are paid ($100 per day), meet daily from April through July, serve staggered 2-year terms and cannot serve more than 3 terms. These terms will be coming up for reappointment. Hunt, CTA Williamson County Tax Assessor/Collector 710 South Main Street, Suite 102 Georgetown, TX 78626 Phone (512) 943-1601 Fax (512) 943-1618 With 12 years prior experience as a Tax Assessor/Collector, Deborah was elected Williamson County Tax assessor/Collector and took office January 1, 1997. Other offices she served are Justice of the Peace in 1994, Williamson County Magistrate 1995-1996. Deborah earned her Registered Tax Assessor/Collector certification in 1986 and earned the designation of Certified Tax Administrator in 1988. Deborah currently serves on the Texas Association of Appraisal Districts and the Tax Assessor Collectors Association of Texas Legislative Committees. In 1999 she was appointed by Governor George W. Bush to the Board of Tax Professional Examiners. She is a member of the Texas Association of Assessing Officers Education Committee, is an elected member of the Board of Directors for the Williamson County Appraisal District, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Georgetown Palace Theatre. SYNOPSIS ROBERT W. TAGGE Born in July 1933 and raised in Des Plaines, Illinois. My family were early settlers to the area and in June 1998 celebrated our 1501h family reunion. I was educated in the local school system and graduated from Ripon College, Ripon, Wisconsin, in 1955. In 1956 1 was called to active military service as a 2Lt, Field Artillery, U.S. Army. Over the course of my more than 22 years of active military service I served in a variety of command and staff positions in the United States, Germany, Vietnam, Thailand and Iran. My duties also required travel to many other Asian and Middle Eastern countries. I hold a BA degree from Ripon College, am a graduate of the Basic and Advanced Field Artillery Officer's Courses, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, U.S. Army Logistics Management School, the U.S. Army Management School, and have taken numerous other military and civilian educational courses. Upon retirement in 1978 I chose to reside in Round Rock, Texas, where I remain today. Active in a variety of volunteer activities, I have served on several Round Rock City and school district bond committees. I served six years as chair of the Williamson County Appraisal District Review Board, helped rewrite the RRISD Site-Based Advisory Committee Guidelines, and was recently asked to serve on the District Advisory Council. Though I consider myself "retired", I actively participate in local volunteer activities and am very involved with military organizations, primarily the 1" Cavalry Division and the 77`h Artillery Associations and the Best Ranger Competition. I am presently writing about my experiences in Vietnam and my association with the early development of U.S. Army Airmobility.
