WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has previously entered into a
contract ( "Contract" ) with Murphy Pipeline Contractors, Inc. for the
Greenlawn Place Blue Tubing and Waterline Replacement Project, and
WHEREAS, the Council has determined that it is necessary to make
changes to the quantity of work to be performed or materials,
equipment, or supplies to be provided, and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is necessary to change
said Contract in accordance with the attached Contract Change Order No.
1, Now Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on
behalf of the City Contract Change Order No. 1 to the Contract with
Murphy Pipeline Contractors, Inc. for the Greenlawn Place Blue Tubing
and Waterline Replacement Project, a copy of said change order being
attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein for all
purposes .
The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of
the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this
Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the
public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and
the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted
upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas
Government Code, as amended.

ITEM: 10C1. Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Change Order
No. 1 with Murphy Pipeline Contractors, Inc. for the Greenlawn Place
Blue Tubing and Waterline Replacement Project.

Justification:
The city budgeted $1,950,640 to perform the replacement of 460 blue polybutylene water
service lines with black polyethylene water service lines, and to replace asbestos cement
(A/C) waterlines in Greenlawn Place Sections 1, 2, and 3; Windy Park Sections 1 and 2; and
Windy Terrace Section 1. The low bidder on this project, Murphy Pipeline Contractors, bid
$1,742,780.81 for replacing the blue tubing service lines and the A/C water lines.
After performing exploratory excavation in Windy Park Section 1, it was determined that the
waterline replacement of the A/C water lines was not necessary. This change order
represents a deduction in the respective quantities for the 6-inch and 8-inch waterlines that
are not requiring replacement. The contract amount after approval of this change order will
be $1,555,155.81.
