DATE: April 17, 2008
SUBJECT: City Council Meeting—April 24, 2008
ITEM: 9133. Consider an ordinance annexing the right of way of County Road 112
from the south right of way line of University Blvd. to the west right of
way line of A.W. Grimes Blvd. (First Reading)
Department: Planning and Community Development
Staff Person: Jim Stendebach, Planning and Community Development Director
Justification:
The tract of land, known as County Road 112 Right-of-Way, was recently deeded to the City of
Round Rock by Williamson County. Maintenance will now be provided by the City of Round
Rock. The tract contains 18.178 acres. It is the City's desire to annex this tract, which was
recently improved by Williamson County and subsequently conveyed to the City, in order to
bring City owned rights-of-way into the city limits for maintenance, as well as provide for a
more contiguous city boundary. The proposed annexation of County Road 112 will also
facilitate the future annexation of the Texas A&M property.
Funding:
Cost: N/A
Source of funds: N/A
Outside Resources: N/A
Background Information:
The tract of land is currently located within the City of Round Rock's ETJ in Williamson County.
The annexation request only encompasses Tract One as described in the attached Warranty
Deed. Tract Two, as described in the recorded document, will come forward under a separate
voluntary annexation request in the future.
Public Comment:
Public notice is not required for voluntary annexation, in accordance with Section 43.028 of the
