WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department of Round Rock has
requested that East Main Street from Mays Street to Sheppard Street,
and Lampasas Street from the City parking garage north of Bagdad Street
to the alley north of East Main Street be closed from 3 : 00 p.m. to
midnight on December 10, 2004, and that East Main Street from Sheppard
Street to Burnet Street be closed from 4 : 00 p.m. to midnight on
December 10, 2004 for Christmas Family Night, and
WHEREAS, the Council wishes to grant such request, and
WHEREAS, if inclement weather on December 10, 2004 causes the
Christmas Family Night to be postponed, then the aforesaid streets are
to be closed during the same times on December 17, 2004, Now Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
That East Main Street and Lampasas Street be closed as set forth
above.
The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of
the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this
Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the
public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and
the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted
upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas
Government Code, as amended.
RESOLVED this 2nd day of December, 2004 .

Background Information:
The 25th Annual Christmas Family Night will bring carolers, arts and crafts, activities,
music, and festivities to downtown Round Rock to kick off the holiday season. The
event begins at 6:30 p.m. with a welcome from Mayor Nyle Maxwell and the
illumination of holiday streetlights before Santa makes his grand entrance atop a
roaring fire truck.
This event is free for the entire family and includes live music, dancers, carolers,
Cowboy Bunkhouse storytellers, carriage rides, Frosty the Snowman, Santa Claus
and more. Children need to bring their"wish lists" for Santa Claus (pictures with
Santa are only $1). Plus, enjoy free hot dogs, popcorn, hot chocolate, and other
refreshments, activities and snacks.
