This signature from the City Manager is required to submit an application to TCEQ to revise the wastewater permit. This permit amendment is the first of two amendments that will be undertaken to get the best possible outcome for a discharge permit for the East Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). This first amendment addresses removing the requirement to treat and test for nitrate removal. This nutrient is rarely a requirement in Texas and so the regional partners are working to have it removed from the permit now before it goes into effect on May 18, 2018. The subsequent permit amendment which will be worked on about 10 months from now will be for renewing the permit due to the expansion at the East Regional WWTP.
