WHEREAS, the Stony Point High School Navy Junior ROTC has
requested that Harrell Parkway from approximately 4, 380 feet north of
its intersection with Palm Valley Boulevard to CR 113 , and Aten Loop,
be closed from 5 : 00 o' clock a.m. until 10 : 30 o' clock a.m. on October
10, 2004 for a run/walk to benefit the Williamson County Crisis Center,
and
WHEREAS, the Council wishes to grant such request, Now Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
That a portion of Harrell Parkway and Aten Loop be closed as set
forth above.
The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of
the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this
Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the
public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and
the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted
upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas
Government Code, as amended.

IMPORTANT:
1. Requests should be made at least 30 days in advance of the closing to (1) allow sufficient time for
notifying other city departments and (2) ensure it is placed on a City Council agenda in a timely fashion.
2. The requesting organization assumes the burden of notifying affected businesses and residences of the
pending road closure.
3. Upon completion, this form should be sent to the Patrol Division Commander. The form may be dropped

Justification:
Road closures for special events in the city require a resolution by City Council. The Stony
Point High School Navy Junior ROTC is conducting a benefit fun/walk event for the
Williamson County Crisis Center.

Background Information:
The portion of the 5-kilometer trail on CR 113 will not require a closure, as the runners will
run to the south of the roadway; thus, no road closures outside Old Settler's Park are
