R -03-11-13-11D1 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock, Texas ("City") is a political subdivision of the State of Texas and is empowered to delegate to a public funds investment pool the authority to invest funds and to act as custodian of investments purchased with local investment funds, and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City to invest its funds jointly with other Texas local governments in the Texas Short Term Asset Reserve Program (TexSTAR) in order to better preserve and safeguard the principal and liquidity of such funds and to earn an acceptable yield, and WHEREAS, the City is authorized to invest its public funds and funds under its control in TexSTAR and to enter into the Participation Agreement authorized herein, Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the form of application for participation in TexSTAR attached to this Resolution is approved. The officers of the City specified in the application are authorized to execute and submit the application, to open accounts, to deposit and withdraw funds, to designate other authorized representatives, and to take all other actions required or permitted by the City under the Agreement created by the application, all in the name and on behalf of the City. As a result of this review, the investment officers are recommending that the City become a member of the Texas Short Term Asset Reserve Program, also known as TexSTAR, to further diversify the City's short-term investment portfolio.
