AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 9, SECTION 9A816,
CODE OF ORDINANCES (1995 EDITION), CITY OF ROUND
ROCK, TEXAS, TO PROHIBIT PARKING ON A PORTION OF
HERMITAGE DRIVE; PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND
REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES OR RESOLUTIONS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND
ROCK, TEXAS, THAT:
I.
Section 9.1816, Code of Ordinances, 1995 Edition, City of
Round Rock, Texas, is hereby amended by adding subparagraph (32)
which shall read as follows:
9.1816 PARKING PROHIBITED IN CERTAIN DESIGNATED LOCATIONS
When signs are erected giving notice thereof, no person shall at any time park a vehicle upon
any of the following described streets or parts of streets:
(32) Hermitage Drive
On both sides of Hermitage Drive from Sam Bass Road to 200 feet north of Sam Bass
Road.
H.
A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in
conflict herewith are expressly repealed.
B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this
ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions
thereof.
C. The City Council hereby finds and declares that
written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the
meeting at which this Ordinance was adopted was posted and that
such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all
times during which this Ordinance and the subject matter hereof

were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as
required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government
Code, as amended.

Establishing a No Parking Zone on Hermitage Drive to a point 200' east of Sam Bass Road will
provide a safer environment due to new lane configurations.

Background Information:
Hermitage Drive was recently re -striped to allow for three lanes of traffic. One lane for eastbound
vehicles, one lane for a left turn onto Sam Bass Road, and one lane for a right turn onto Sam Bass
Road. Establishing a No Parking Zone for this portion of roadway will ensure that the designated
lanes are clear of any possible congestion.
