R -08-06-26-10E9 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has duly advertised for bids for the RM 1431 - 2.0 MG Elevated Water Storage Tank Project, and WHEREAS, Landmark Structures I, L.P. has submitted the lowest responsible bid, and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the bid of Landmark Structures I, L.P., Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City a contract with Landmark Structures I, L.P. for the RM 1431 - 2.0 MG Elevated Water Storage Tank Project. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Construction Contract with Landmark Structures I, L.P. for construction of the RM 1431- 2.0 MG Elevated Water Storage Tank. Dar eptment• Staff Person: Justification: Water and Wastewater Utilities Michael D. Thane, Director of Utilities The RM 1431 2.0 Million Gallon (MG) Elevated Water Storage Tank Project is one of the components necessary to provide Cedar Park 4.0 million gallons per day (mgd) of potable water by the summer of 2009, as required in the City's agreement with Cedar Park. This elevated storage tank is scheduled to be in service by the summer of 2009. In addition, this project will allow the City to effectively manage and deliver the full amount of contracted water from Lake Travis to the City's Water Distributions System. On June 10, 2008, the City received three bids for this project with the average bid amount being $ 4,500,000. Landmark Structures I, L.P. submitted the low bid in the amount of $4,185,000. Therefore, the Engineer and Staff recommend awarding the project to Landmark Structures I, L.P. Funding: Cost: $ 4,185,000.00 Source of funds: Capital Project Funds (Self -Financed Utility) Outside Resources: HDR, Engineering, Inc. Background Information: With the construction of the RM 1431-2.0 MG Elevated Water Storage Tank, the City will be able to efficiently deliver potable water from the current Water Treatment Plant and the future Brushy Creek Regional Utility Authority (BCRUA) Water Treatment Plant to the City's Water Distribution System.
