R -08-06-26-10F2 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has duly advertised for bids for the Meadow Lake Park Trail North Development Project, and WHEREAS, Westar Contracting has submitted the lowest responsible bid, and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the bid of Westar Contracting, Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City a contract with Westar Contracting for the Meadow Lake Park Trail North Development Project. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Construction Contract with Westar Contracting for the Meadow Lake Park Trail North Development Project. Department: Parks and Recreation Staff Person: Rick Atkins, Director of Parks and Recreation David Buzzell, RLA, ASLA Justification: This project will consist of a 6' concrete trail, approximately 1/2 mile in distance. This project also includes installation of a pavilion and other standard park amenities, such as benches, picnic tables, and grills. Funding: $250,000.00 Cost: $182,387.40 Source of funds: Parkland Dedication Funds Outside Resources: Westar Construction Background Information: Meadow Lake Park is a Community park divided into 2 areas. The south portion of the park is currently developed with a concrete trail and playground. Public Comment: Public input gathered at multiple public meetings. Residents were interested in more recreational opportunities in north portion of the park.
