R -08-08-28-9D1 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock ("City") desires to purchase carpet, ceramic tile, and vinyl baseboard for the Library, and WHEREAS, the City is a member of the Texas Government Statewide Purchasing Cooperative ("Buy Board"), and WHEREAS, Intertech Flooring is an approved vendor of the Buy Board, and WHEREAS, the City wishes to issue a purchase order to Intertech Flooring, Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to issue a purchase order to Intertech Flooring for the purchase of carpet, ceramic tile, and vinyl baseboard for the Library. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. Consider a resolution authorizing the City Manager to issue a purchase order to Intertech Flooring for carpet, tile, and vinyl baseboard for the Robert & Helen Griffith Public Library. Department: Engineering and Development Services Staff Person: Tom Word, Chief of Public Works Operations Larry Madsen, Construction Manager Justification: Intertech's Flooring price is based on state buy board contract No. 241 with Collins & Alkman which provides competitive pricing and meets the City's purchasing process. lnterch Flooring has previously provided flooring for City projects such as the Dell Diamond Dressing Room, carpet replacement at City Hall and most recently the new Police Department. Based on the quality of work Intertech Flooring has provided in the past, the building construction department is recommending Intertech Flooring as the contractor for this project. This proposal includes demolition of existing flooring, floor preparation, furniture moving and installation of rubber base, ceramic tile, and new carpet. Funding: Cost: Source of funds: $167,322.00 General Self Financed Construction Outside Resources: Intertech Flooring Background Information: Flooring at the Robert & Helen Griffith Library has become worn and is in the need of replacement at this time. The existing carpet was installed in 1999 during the remodel and the addition to the facility. Public Comment: N/A
