R -08-12-04-9C5 WHEREAS, Section 43.065(a) of the Texas Local Government Code requires that, within certain specified statutory timeframes, the City Council of the City of Round Rock must direct the City's Planning Director to prepare a service plan that provides for the extension of full municipal services to the areas which are proposed for annexation, Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the City Council Director to prepare a service hereby directs the City's Planning plan that provides for the extension of full municipal services to the following area proposed for annexation, said property being further described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein for all purposes. (1) Approximately 2.0 acres located at 2701 High Country Blvd. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. Consider a resolution directing the Planning Director to prepare a service plan for the proposed annexation of approximately 2.0 acres located at 2701 High Country. Department: Staff Person: Justification: Planning and Community Development Jim Stendebach, Planning and Community Development Director The Tract of land, known as the High Country Boulevard Tract, consists of approximately 2.0 acres abutting High Country Boulevard, and contains two privately -owned parcels. The Tract abuts previously annexed tracts on all sides, and is a classic donut hole in our City limits. By annexing the Tract, the City may provide emergency and other services to this tract, and closes the hole in our City limits. l nom: Cost: N/A Source of funds: N/A Outside Resources: N/A Background Information: This tract of land is located within the City of Round Rock's ETJ and in Williamson County. Public Comment: Two public hearings are scheduled to be held on April 9, 2009, and April 23, 2009. On February 11, 2009, written notices will be sent by certified mail to the property owners of the proposed annexed lands and to all public and private utility 25, 2009, written notices will be sent to the public school districts. Published node of the Ap March 9, 2009, and April 23, 2008 public hearings will appear in the Round Rock Leader on March 28 ril 2009, and April 11, 2008, respectively, and will be posted on the City's Website on March 25, 2009, and April 9, 2009, respectively. Lastly, the City Secretary will post the Council's agenda, which will include the public hearings of April 9, 2009 and April 23, 2009, on April 3, 2009 and April 17, 2009, respectively.
