R -03-09-25-14C1 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has duly advertised for bids for the construction of the Citywide Sidewalk Improvements Segment 3, and Forest Creek Safety and Sidewalk Improvements, and WHEREAS, Allstate Services, Ltd. has submitted the lowest responsible bid, and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the bid of Allstate Services, Ltd., Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City a contract with Allstate Services, Ltd. for the construction of the Citywide Sidewalk Improvements Segment 3, and Forest Creek Safety and Sidewalk Improvements. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a contract with Allstate Services, Ltd. for the construction of the Citywide Sidewalk Improvements Segment 3, and Forest Creek Safety and Sidewalk Improvements. Resource: Tom Word, Chief of Public Works Operations Danny Halden, City Engineer Ruth Haberman, Project Manager History: Three bids were received on September 9, 2003 for the sidewalk project. Allstate Services, Ltd. submitted the lowest bid of $186,880. This project will complete a portion of the Overall Citywide Sidewalk Plan. This project will build approximately 5,100 I.f. of sidewalk along Oak Ridge Drive in Round Rock West and along Twin Ridge Parkway in Oak Bluff Estates. It will also build approximately 2,500 I.f. of sidewalk in various areas in the Forest Creek subdivision and will accomplish various safety improvements in the same area. Funding: Cost: $186,880.00 Source of funds: Capital Project Funds (GO Bond 2001) Outside Resources: Fisher Hagood, Inc. - Consulting Engineer Allstate Services, Ltd.- Contractor Impact/Benefit: Provide safe walkways for pedestrians, improve the appearance and appeal of the area.
