AN ORDINANCE NAMING THE PROPOSED ROADWAY NOW
REFERRED TO AS ARTERIAL "A" "KENNEY FORT
BOULEVARD"; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND
REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND
ROCK, TEXAS:
I.
That the name of the proposed roadway as shown on Exhibit
A, which has been referred to as Arterial "A", be established as
Kenney Fort Boulevard.
II.
All references to this street name in The Code of
Ordinances (1995 Edition), City of Round Rock, Texas, are hereby
amended to reflect said change.
A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in
conflict herewith are expressly repealed.
B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this
ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions
thereof.
C. The City Council hereby finds and declares that
written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the
meeting at which this Ordinance was adopted was posted and that
such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all
times during which this Ordinance and the subject matter hereof
were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as

required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government
Code, as amended.

By motion duly made, seconded and passed with an
affirmative vote of all the Council members present, the
requirement for reading this ordinance on two separate days was
dispensed with.

The City of Round Rock Planning Department is interested in designating Arterial "A" as Kenney Fort
Boulevard. Arterial "A", as shown on the City's Transportation Master Plan, traverses the city in areas
very near the historic Kenney Fort. The Planning Department wishes to recognize that part of the City's
history by designating Kenney Fort Boulevard to this major roadway. Any future portions of the Arterial
"A" roadway, whether platted or not, shall also receive the name Kenney Fort Boulevard.

Background Information:
There are no properties currently addressed to Arterial "A" in any part of Round Rock, so there are no
owners to notify regarding the street name changes herein.
