On October 8, 2009, the City Council nominated Robert Tagge and Deborah Hunt to serve on the
Williamson Central Appraisal District (WCAD) Board of Directors. Section 6.03 of the Texas Property Tax
Code, states that each taxing unit must determine their vote by resolution and submit it to the Chief
Appraiser by December 15th. This resolution will allocate Round Rock's 225 votes and staff recommends
putting all 225 votes towards Robert Tagge.
The WCAD is responsible for appraising property in the county at its market value for purposes of
property taxation. The five -member board serves 2 year unpaid terms, sets policies for the WCAD and
hires the Chief Appraiser. The board also provides the WCAD annual budget which is funded by
assessments of the taxing entities in the county.
