R -10-O 1-28-10D 1 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has previously determined in Resolution No. R -10-01-14-8C2 that Flintco, Inc. is the offeror that offers the best value for the governmental entity based on the published selection criteria and on its ranking evaluation for the Intermodal Transit and Parking Facility Project, and WHEREAS, the City Council now wishes to enter into a contract with Flintco, Inc., Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City a contract with Flintco, Inc. for the construction of the Intermodal Transit and Parking Facility Project. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting the public as required by law at all times during Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, which this was open to which this considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Construction Contract with Flintco, Inc. for the Intermodal Transit and Parking Facility Project. Department• Staff Person: Justification: Public Works Administration Tom Word, P.E., Chief of Public Works Operations As directed by City Council on January 14, 2010, City staff has successfully negotiated a contract with Flintco, Inc. for the construction of the Intermodal Transit and Parking Facility. The facility will provide a safe interface between pedestrians, bicyclists, automobiles and transit vehicles, as well as provide public parking for visitors to southwest downtown Round Rock. The 56,661 - square -foot, 2 -story facility will be located at 300 W. Bagdad and include 110 parking spaces, a bus loading/unloading area, a transit pavilion, bike racks and lockers, and pedestrian amenities. Funding for the facility is provided by the City through the 2002 General Obligation Bonds and the U.S. Department of Transportation through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users.
