R -10-01-28-10G7 WHEREAS, the City Council adopted the Strategic Plan - Game On 2060 (the Strategic Plan") on April 223, 2009, which defined the vision of the City of Round Rock as follows: THE VISION: Round Rock will be the City of Choice for entrepreneurs, business leaders, researchers, educators and members of the various creative professions who want to combine professional accomplishments and achievement with a culturally rich, socially diverse and family -friendly lifestyle. At the same time it will offer opportunities for personal growth, safety and well being for all its residents; and; WHEREAS, the Strategic Plan's goal of making Round Rock the City of Choice requires a prosperous economy, which is fueled by successful, quality development; and WHEREAS, because the City Council recognizes the importance of the development process to a successful, quality development, it desires to adopt a Philosophy Statement to guide the City and memorialize its commitment; Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the Round Rock City Council hereby adopts the "City of Round Rock Development Process Philosophy Statement" attached hereto. Deaartment: Staff Person: Justification: Administration Jim Nuse, City Manager The City Council is interested in providing guidance to the Development Community and staff regarding their philosophy on the development process. This guidance will be used to improve the various aspects of our community. Council will discuss a philosophy statement.
