R-10-02-1 1-8D 1 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has duly advertised for bids for the Red Bud Lane Phase IV Project, and WHEREAS, FT Woods Construction has submitted the lowest responsible bid, and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the bid of FT Woods Construction, Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City a contract with FT Woods Construction for the Red Bud Lane Phase IV Project. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Construction Contract with FT Woods Construction for the Red Bud Lane Phase IV Project. Department: Staff Person: Justification: Engineering and Development Services Danny Halden, P.E., City Engineer On January 19, 2010, eight (8) sealed bids were submitted for the construction of the Red Bud Lane Phase IV project. Waeltz and Prete, Inc. and City Staff have determined that F.T. Woods Construction submitted the lowest and best bid and recommends award of this contract to this firm. This contract is for approximately 1,750 L.F. of four -lane arterial roadway with associated curb and gutter, storm sewer, sidewalks, masonry fencing, and all associated improvements for the portion of Red Bud Lane from County Road 123 to Woodland Loop. Strategic Plan Relevance: Goal # 26.0: Construct major element of the transportation and mobility system as approved by Council in the Master Transportation Plan. Goal # 29.0: Provide for effective management of storm water. Funding: Cost: Source of funds: Outside Resources : Waeltz & Prete, Inc.
