R -10-09-09-11C1 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has duly advertised for bids for the Brushy Creek Regional Wastewater System — Contract 6 & 21 Drainage Improvements Project, and WHEREAS, Austin Filter Systems, Inc. has submitted the lowest responsible bid, and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the bid of Austin Filter Systems, Inc., Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City a contract with Austin Filter Systems, Inc. for the Brushy Creek Regional Wastewater System — Contract 6 & 21 Drainage Improvements Project. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. City Engineer Item Summary: On July 28, 2010, sealed bids were opened for the Brushy Creek Regional Wastewater System — Contract 6 & 21 Drainage Improvements. These improvements will correct erosion damage near the Brushy Creek Regional Wastewater Interceptor on property immediately east of the Rabb House. In addition this contract includes the removal of material from the flood plain that was inadvertently placed with the Interceptor construction immediately east of Georgetown Street, on the north side of Brushy Creek. Four bids were received, and the lowest bid of $93,411 was submitted by Austin Filter Systems, Inc. The City's consultant, K. Friese and Associates, recommends to award of the contract to Austin Filter Systems, Inc. A copy of the certified bid tabulation and award recommendation is attached with this summary sheet.
