R -10-10-14-9F7 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has duly advertised for bids for the Southwest Downtown — Main Street Project, and WHEREAS, Cash Construction has submitted the lowest responsible bid, and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the bid of Cash Construction, Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City a contract with Cash Construction for the Southwest Downtown — Main Street Project. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. Director of Public Works Operations Item Summary: This construction project includes water, storm water, dry utility infrastructure improvements and ROW finishes for the area around the Southwest Downtown. Improvements will include sections of Main Street between San Saba Street and Blair Street. This also includes construction for the Blair Street Storm Sewer and Wastewater main for Project 6. At the September 21, 2010 bid opening, three (3) bids were received by the City of Round Rock for construction on the Southwest Downtown project. Cash Construction submitted the lowest, responsive base bid in the amount of $3,191,202.00. This project reconstructs the area of Main Street between San Saba Street and Blair Street. This also includes the Storm Sewer system to convey run-off to our Water Quality System. This area will be constructed to match the improvements in the Southwest Downtown Infrastructure Improvement Phase 1B. The proposed improvements are included in the Downtown Master Plan and serve as catalytic projects toward the implementation of the plan.
