R -11-01-13-10B2 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has duly sought proposals for the purchase of playground equipment for the Play for All Abilities Park, and WHEREAS, Recreation Consultants of Texas has submitted the proposal determined to be the most advantageous to the City considering the price and other evaluation factors included in the request for proposals, and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the proposal submitted by Recreation Consultants of Texas, Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the proposal submitted by of Recreation Consultants of Texas is hereby accepted and the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to issue a purchase order in the amount of $66,040.00 to Recreation Consultants of Texas for playground equipment for the Play for All Abilities Park. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. Meeting Date: January 13, 2011 Department: Parks and Recreation Staff Person making presentation: Rick Atkins Parks and Recreation Director Item Summary: This item allows the City Manager to issue a purchase order for playground equipment to be installed in the Retreat Pod, Sensory Pod and Swing Area at the Play for All Abilities Park. Staff issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to playground manufactures and received 13 proposals to manufacture and install playground equipment for the Play for All Abilities Park. A five (5) member panel scored each proposal and it was determined that Recreation Consultants of Texas provided the best value for the City for the Retreat Pod, Sensory Pod and Swing Area. Strategic Plan Relevance: Goal 34.0 — Implement the Parks Plan once adopted. Goal 36.0 — Develop recreation and library options that respond to growing diversity of residents and visitor interests.
