R -11-01-27-14B1 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has duly advertised for bids for the Reuse Water Treatment Facilities — Phase 1B Project, and WHEREAS, Matous Construction, Ltd. has submitted the lowest responsible bid, and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the bid of Matous Construction, Ltd., Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City a construction contract with Matous Construction, Ltd. for the Reuse Water Treatment Facilities — Phase 1B Project. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. Director of Infrastructure Management Item Summary: This contract is for the construction of the Phase 1B — Reuse Water Treatment Facilities located at the Brushy Creek Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant (BCRWWTP). The completion of Phase 1B, along with the recently completed Phase 1A (Old Settlers Park Reuse line) our reuse water system will be able to provide adequate reuse water for the irrigation of Old Settlers Park and Dell Diamond. On December 14, 2010, eight bids were received and publicly opened and read aloud. The bid amounts ranged from $3,801,780 to $5,047,880. The low bidder was Matous Construction, Ltd. of Belton, Texas. The Design Engineer and the City's Utility Staff recommend awarding the project to Matous Construction, Ltd. Strategic Plan Relevance: Goal 27.0 "Ensure there is an adequate, affordable and safe water supply."
