R -11-04-14-10D4 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has duly advertised for bids for the East Main Street Park Wastewater Improvements Project, and WHEREAS, Patin Construction LLC has submitted the lowest responsible bid, and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the bid of Patin Construction LLC, Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City a contract with Patin Construction LLC for the East Main Street Park Wastewater Improvements Project. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. Director of Infrastructure Management Item Summary: On August 12, 2010, the City executed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Community Center Foundation to participate in the development of the former Sam Bass ballfield property. As part of the MOU, the City is responsible for the relocation of the existing wastewater lines. The existing wastewater lines are made of clay and are in poor condition and in need of replacement. In addition, they are presently located underneath the proposed building structures. This contract is for the construction of 2,122 feet of 8 inch wastewater line and necessary manholes for this development. On November 5, 2010, the City Manager approved a professional services contract with Kasberg, Patrick and Associates, LP for design, bidding and construction phase services. On March 3, 2011, twelve bids were received and publicly opened and read aloud. The bid amounts ranged from $154,919.00 to $310,746.40. The low bidder was Patin Construction, LLC of Taylor, Texas. The design engineer and the City's staff recommend awarding the project to Patin Construction, LLC.
