WHEREAS, the Governor's Office, Criminal Justice Division, has grant funds available to
cities for various law enforcement projects, and
WHEREAS, grant funds are available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act:
S.T.O.P. Violence Against Women Act, and
WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock wishes to make application for the available funds for the
purchase of specialized forensics software and licensing agreements; a laptop computer; forensic
camera kits; digital cameras, close-up lenses, and flash kits for crime scene work; portable UV lights;
tent numbers to be used at crime scenes; and two computer workstations, and
WHEREAS, the City Council designates its City Manager as the City's authorized official
with power to apply for the grant, including making online application, on behalf of the applicant
agency, the City of Round Rock, Texas, Now Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
That the City Manager is designated as the authorized official to make application, including
making online application, and is hereby directed to make application to the Governor's Office,
Criminal Justice Division, for funding from the S.T.O.P. Violence Against Women Act.
The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and
subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was
open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter
hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act,
Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended.

Item Summary:
A grant application to the Criminal Justice Division of the Governor's Office requesting reallocated American
Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds available through the S.T.O.P. Violence Against Women Act. The proposal
requests funds to purchase specialized forensics software and licensing agreements; a laptop computer; forensic
camera kits; digital cameras, close-up lenses, and flash kits for crime scene work; portable UV lights; tent numbers to

The Governor's Office is the prime recipient of the grant. The City would be a sub -recipient. Grant funds are
distributed by reimbursement. All funds must be obligated by June 30, 2011.
