R -11-06-23-10B3 WHEREAS, on October 28th, 2010 the City Council approved the list of capital projects for the 2011 Capital Spending Plan for the General Self -Financed Construction Fund, and WHEREAS, on January 13, 2011 the City Council approved Amendment No. 1 to the 2011 Capital Spending Plan for the General Self -Financed Construction Fund, and WHEREAS, on March 10, 2011 the City Council approved Amendment No. 2 to the 2011 Capital Spending Plan for the General Self -Financed Construction Fund, and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the list of capital projects to include: the purchase of land for Fire Station No. 8 and architectural fees associated with the renovation of the Rabb House and fund these projects from the General Self -Financed Construction Fund, Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the amended list of capital projects along with their estimated costs as shown in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated herein, are approved for funding from the General Self -Financed Construction Fund. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. City Council Agenda Summary Sheet Consider a resolution approving Amendment No. 3 to the FY 2010-2011 General Self - Agenda Caption: Financed Construction Budget. Meeting Date: June 23, 2011 Department: Finance Staff Person making presentation: Cheryl Delaney Finance Director Item Summary: As in previous years, this process continues the City's financial strategy of allocating cash funding for projects for which the City would normally issue debt. This strategy has reduced the need to borrow funds while allowing the City to continue to keep up with the growing demand. This strategy has been in place since 1999, during this time it has saved the taxpayers of Round Rock at least 12 cents on the property tax rate by avoiding the issuance of debt. Since 1999 the City has funded over $65 million in projects. This General Self -Financed Construction budget revision will allocate available self -financed construction funding for for the purchase of land for Fire station #8 ($500,000) and architectural fees associated with the renovation of the Rabb House ($100,000).
