AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14, NOISE, CODE OF
ORDINANCES (2010 EDITION), CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
ADDING A DEFINITION FOR "CHIEF OF POLICE"; REMOVING CITY
APPROVED EVENTS FROM EXEMPTIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR A
SAVINGS CLAUSE AND REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES
AND RESOLUTIONS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK,
TEXAS:
That Chapter 14, Section 14-210, Code of Ordinances (2010 Edition), City of
Round Rock, Texas, is hereby amended to add the definition of "Chief of Police" to read
as follows:
Sec. 14-210. - Definitions.
The following words and terms, when used in this article, have the following meanings unless
otherwise clearly indicated. All technical definitions not defined in this section will be interpreted in
accordance with applicable publications and standards of the American National Standards Institute
(ANSI).
Chief of Police means the Chief of Police of the City of Round Rock or his designated
representative.

That Chapter 14, Section 14-214, Subsection (a), Paragraph (6), Code of
Ordinances (2010 Edition), City of Round Rock, Texas, is hereby amended to read as
follows:
Sec. 14-214. - Exemptions.
(a) The following uses and activities are exempt from the sound level regulations contained in this
article, except for the sound level regulations provided in table I and table II of section 14-212(b):
(6) Noise resulting from a city -sponsored celebration or event.

HI.
A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in conflict herewith are
expressly repealed.
B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this ordinance shall not
invalidate other sections or provisions thereof.
C. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date,
hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Ordinance was adopted was posted
and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during
which this Ordinance and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and
formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas
Government Code, as amended.

Council members present, the requirement for reading this ordinance on two separate
days was dispensed with.
