R -11-07-28-12B1 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has duly advertised for bids for the 2011 Street Maintenance Program (Overlay) Project, and WHEREAS, APAC — Texas, Inc. has submitted the lowest responsible bid, and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the bid of APAC — Texas, Inc., Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City a contract with APAC — Texas, Inc. for the 2011 Street Maintenance Program (Overlay) Project. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. Utilities Director Item Summary: The purpose of this submission is to award a construction contact to APAC — Texas, Inc. for the construction of the 2011 Street Maintenance Program (Overlay) project. The City opened bids on June 27, 2011 for this project and received two bids for this project; APAC — Texas, Inc. was the low bidder at a cost of $2,455,755. The estimate for this project prior to the bid was $2,600,000. This contract will encompass Southern Terrace, and Onion Creek Village subdivisions; and a portion of the Oak Bluff, South Creek, Windy Park, Chisholm Valley, Round Rock West, Indian Ridge, Trinity Place subdivisions. This project will include pavement repairs, concrete repairs, milling, and asphalt overlay.
