WHEREAS, in connection with procuring architectural services for the Round Rock Sports
Complex (the "Project"), the City issued its Request for Statement of Interest and Qualification for
Architectural Services for the City of Round Rock Sports Complex, and
WHEREAS, the City received such statements from a number of qualified architect firms; and
WHEREAS, City Staff has evaluated said statements and has recommended the most highly
qualified provider of the architectural services, and
WHEREAS, the City Council, in accordance with §2254.004, Government Code, has selected
Marmon Mok as the most highly qualified provider of the desired services on the basis of
demonstrated competence and qualifications, and
WHEREAS, the City Council, in accordance with §2254.004, Government Code, wishes to
authorize the City Manager to attempt to negotiate with Marmon Mok a contract at a fair and
reasonable price,
Now Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
That the selection of Marmon Mok as the most highly qualified provider of the desired
architectural services for the Project is hereby approved, and the City Manager is hereby authorized to
attempt to negotiate a contract in accordance with §2254.004, Government Code.
The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and
subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was
open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter
hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act,
Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended.

Item Summary:
In connection with procuring architectural services for the Sports Complex, the City has sought and received
qualifications from professional architectural firms and individuals.
Twenty-five Architectural firms responded to the City's request for qualifications for design of the proposed Round
Rock Sports Complex. A selection committee consisting of Kyle Covington, Marriott Hotel General Manager, and City
staff members Steve Norwood, Nancy Yawn, Peter Wysocki and Larry Madsen reviewed the qualifications as a team
and short listed to the following five firms for an Interview/Presentation. The five firms selected were Barnes
Gromatzky Kosarek Architects, BOKA Powell Architects, KAHickman Architects, Marmon Mok Architects, and Pfluger
Wiginton Hooker Architects. Marmon Mok was selected as the most highly qualified firm for design of the Sports
Complex by the selection committee.
