Consider a resolution nominating a candidate to fill an unexpired term on the Williamson Agenda Caption: Central Appraisal District Board of Directors Meeting Date: February 23,2012 Department: Finance Staff Person making presentation: Cheryl Delaney Finance Director Item Summary: One of the recently appointed board members, Brig Mireles, will be unable to serve his 2012-2012 term on the WCAD board. The procedures to replace that member are found in Section 6.03(1) of the Texas Property Tax Code. The Code requires that if a vacancy occurs on the Board of Directors, each taxing unit that is entitled to vote, may nominated, by resolution adopted by its governing body, a candidate to fill the vacancy. The unit shall submit the name of its nominee to the Chief Appraiser within 45 days after notification from the Board of Directors of the existence of the vacancy. The Chief Appraiser shall prepare and deliver to the Board of Directors a list of the nominees. The Board of Directors shall elect, by a majority vote of its members, one of the nominees to fill the vacancy. Since the selection is left up to the Board,they require a resume to be attached to the City's nomination.
