WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has duly advertised for bids for the University Boulevard
Right-Turn Lane at Sunrise Road; Sandy Brook Drive Improvements; and Oakmont Drive
Improvements Project, and
WHEREAS, Patin Construction, LLC has submitted the lowest responsible bid, and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the bid of Patin Construction, LLC, Now

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City a contract

with Patin Construction, LLC for the University Boulevard Right-Turn Lane at Sunrise Road; Sandy
Brook Drive Improvements; and Oakmont Drive Improvements Project.
The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and f
subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was

open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter
hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act,
Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended.

Item Summary:
The University Boulevard at Sunrise Road, Sandy Brook Drive Improvements, and Oakmont Drive Improvements
Project includes construction of pavement widening, intersection improvements, waterline improvements, and
modifications to an existing traffic signal.
Two sealed bids were received at 2:00 p.m. on May 8, 2012: Patin Construction, LLC - $644,785.20; and Aaron :
Concrete Contractors, LP-$669,945.30. During the official bid tabulation, a mathematical error was found between
the unit price and item cost of Bid Item 27 on the Bid Form submitted by Aaron Concrete Contractors, LP. The
corrected bid of Aaron Concrete Contractors, LP is$668,704.30. Patin Construction, LLC is the low bidder.
Based upon the review of the bid tabulation, City staff recommends the City of Round Rock accept the bid of Patin
Construction, LLC in the amount of$644,785.20.
