8 WHEREAS, Section 545.352 of the Texas Transportation Code establishes prima
t
9 facie reasonable and prudent speed limits for streets and highways situated in the state of
10 Texas, and
11 WHEREAS, Section 545.356 of the Texas Transportation Code authorizes the
12 governing body of a municipality to alter, by ordinance, prima facie speed limits, and
13 WHEREAS, the Council has determined that certain speed limits should be
14 established on portions of the following streets, as listed below, Now Therefore
15 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK,

20 That Chapter 42, Section 42-127(1), of the Code of Ordinances (2010 Edition), City
21 of Round Rock, Texas, is hereby amended by deleting the following:

Item Summary:
This ordinance will raise all posted legal speed limits within the City of Round Rock that have been set below 25
miles-per-hour to the minimum legal speed limit allowed under current Texas state laws. Any and all 15 miles-per-
hour and 20 miles-per-hour posted limits will be raise to the 25 miles-per-hour minimum. This includes residential
streets in several neighborhoods and streets within the Old Settlers Park area. New signs will be posted on all
affected streets after adoption. i
