R-11-09-22-11A7 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has duly advertised for bids for the Sheppard Street Water Line Replacement Project, and WHEREAS, while only one bid was received from SKE Construction, LLC, the City Council has determined that the bid is acceptable, and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the bid of SKE Construction, LLC, Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City a contract with SKE Construction, LLC for the Sheppard Street Water Line Replacement Project. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 5 51, Texas Government Code, as amended. Utilities Director ' Item Summary: The City has anexisting 8-inchwaterline located inSheppard Street. Due tothe recent number ofwater main breaks onthis 6-inch line,the Utility Staff recommends replacing the existing cast iron water line on Sheppard Street that extends between Bagdad Street tothe north side ofEast Main Street. VVerecommend performing this work while the renovation of City Hall is taking place which will lessen the impact on our employees and the public. The |ovv bidder on this contract was SKE Construction, LLC who submitted the only bid. Staff has evaluated their bid of$87,900 and recommends award of this contract to SKE Construction. SKE is about to complete another waterline replacement project for the City which means they could begin work immediately on this project.
