This grant will fund two live performances that already occurred on the Main Street Plaza.
This resolution is just a formality required by the Texas Music Office in order for them to
actually award us the money. The Council passed a resolution for this grant previously in
April 2013 however the Texas Music Office came back with required changes to the
resolution. Specifically they are requiring a WHEREAS clause that says the following:
"WHEREAS, the City Council agrees that in the event of loss or misuse of the
Governor's Office, Texas Music Office funds, the City Council assures that the funds
will be returned to the Governor's Office, Texas Music Office in full, .... "
They also required that the Mayor be listed in the resolution as the authorized official to sign
any necessary grant documents. Staff has made the requested changes and requests
approval of this revised ordinance.
Staff recommends approval.
