Governance, item 1.3 of the Williamson County & Cities Health District Cooperative Agreement, states that "Williamson County and any incorporated city may apply to become a Member of the District. The governing body of each member shall review the application. The governmental entity may be admitted as a Member if a majority of the governing body of each Member approves the application,"; and WHEREAS, the City of Leander, Texas, has applied to become a Member of the District effective October 1, 2013, and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to approve the City of Leander's application for membership in the District, Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the document attached hereto as Exhibit "A" approving the City of Leander, Texas, as a Member of the Williamson County & Cities Health District is hereby approved and the Mayor is authorized to execute the same. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. My understanding is that upon approval of the current member governments, the City of Leander's membership will become effective October 1, 2013, and will be under the terms of the Cooperative Agreement. The City of Leander looks forward to a long and productive relationship with the Williamson County & Cities Health District. The City Council of the City of Leander approved becoming a Member Government on September 19, 2013. The Williamson County & Cities Health District Cooperative Agreement states: "Williamson County and any incorporated City may apply to become a member of the District. The governing body of each current Member Government shall review the application. The governmental entity may be admitted as a new Member Government if a majority of the governing body of each current Member Government approves the application." As such, each Member Government is required to submit a confirmation of approval for the City of Leander's membership to the Williamson County & Cities Health District. Once the approvals of all current Member Governments are received, the Cooperative Agreement will be amended. Currently, there are seven member Governments with the Williamson County & Cities Health District. They include: Cedar Park, Georgetown, Hutto, Leander, Liberty Hill, Round Rock, and Taylor.
