G-14-01-09-G1 - 1/9/2014ORDINANCE NO. l i -1 -09 -6- 2 3 4 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ADMINISTRATION, CODE 5 OF ORDINANCES (2010 EDITION), CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, 6 REGARDING CIVIL SERVICE RECLASSIFICATION; AND PROVIDING 7 FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND REPEALING CONFLICTING 8 ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS. 9 10 11 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has previously adopted Chapter 143, Texas 12 Local Government Code, dealing with Municipal Civil Service for firefighters; and 13 WHEREAS, Texas Local Government Code Section 143.021(a) requires that the 14 City's governing body establish the classifications of all firefighters and prescribe the 15 numbers of positions in each classification; and 16 WHEREAS, certain civil service classifications and numbers of positions 17 thereunder have changed: Now, therefore, 18 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, 19 TEXAS: 20 I. 21 That Chapter 2, Sec. 2-78(d)(2), Code of Ordinances (2010 Edition), City of 22 Round Rock, Texas, is hereby amended as follows: 23 Sec. 2-78. - Fire department. 24 (d) Firefighters civil service classifications and numbers of positions. 25 (2) The following civil service classifications are hereby established, and the following 26 numbers of positions in each classification are hereby prescribed: 27 28 Civil Service Classification Number of Positions 29 30 Assistant fire chief 1 31 32 Battalion chief 6 33 34 35 Captain 18 36 37 0112 1404,00289433 1 2 3 4 5 6 Lieutenant 18 Driver 31 Firefighter 4854 Total 122128 7 8 11. 9 A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in conflict herewith are 10 expressly repealed. 11 B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this ordinance shall not 12 invalidate other sections or provisions thereof. 13 C.
