4 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ADMINISTRATION, CODE
5 OF ORDINANCES (2010 EDITION), CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
6 REGARDING CIVIL SERVICE RECLASSIFICATION; AND PROVIDING
7 FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND REPEALING CONFLICTING
8 ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS.

11 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has previously adopted Chapter 143, Texas
12 Local Government Code, dealing with Municipal Civil Service for firefighters; and
13 WHEREAS, Texas Local Government Code Section 143.021(a) requires that the
14 City's governing body establish the classifications of all firefighters and prescribe the
15 numbers of positions in each classification; and
16 WHEREAS, certain civil service classifications and numbers of positions
17 thereunder have changed: Now, therefore,
18 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK,
19 TEXAS:
20 I.
21 That Chapter 2, Sec. 2-78(d)(2), Code of Ordinances (2010 Edition), City of
22 Round Rock, Texas, is hereby amended as follows:
23 Sec. 2-78. - Fire department.
24 (d) Firefighters civil service classifications and numbers of positions.
25 (2) The following civil service classifications are hereby established, and the following
26 numbers of positions in each classification are hereby prescribed:

9 A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in conflict herewith are
10 expressly repealed.
11 B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this ordinance shall not
12 invalidate other sections or provisions thereof.
13 C. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date,
14 hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this ordinance was adopted was posted
15 and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during
16 which this ordinance and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and
17 formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas
18 Government Code, as amended.

20 By motion duly made, seconded and passed with an affirmative vote of all the
21 Council members present, the requirement for reading this ordinance on two separate
22 days was dispensed with.
