O-2019-0201 - 5/9/20191 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 1s 19 20 21 22 23 24 ORDINANCE NO. 0-2019-0201 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING AND DEVELOPMENT CODE, CHAPTER 4, ARTICLE VI, SECTION 4-82 (e)(2), CODE OF ORDINANCES (2018 EDITION), CITY OF ROUND ROCK TEXAS, REGARDING THE DETERMINATION OF SERVICE UNITS FOR MULTIFAMILY USES; AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS. WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock, Texas desires to amend the text of the Zoning and Development Code, and WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing concerning the proposed amendment on the 31d day of April, 2019, following lawful publication of the notice of said public hearing, and WHEREAS, after considering public testimony received at such hearing, the Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended the Zoning and Development Code be amended as set forth herein, and WHEREAS, on the 9th day of May, 2019, after proper notification, the City held a public hearing on the proposed amendment, and WHEREAS, the City Council determines that the amendment provided for herein promotes the health, safety, morals and protects and preserves the general welfare of the community, and BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, 0 �lI W.I_F-'s 0112.1902; 00420765/ss2 2 That Zoning and Development Code, Chapter 4, Article VI, Section 4-82 (e)(2), 3 Code of Ordinances (2018 Edition), City of Round Rock, Texas, is hereby amended as 4 follows: 5 (e) Determination of service units 6 (1) Table for non -multifamily uses. The number of service units for non -multifamily uses for both 7 water and wastewater service is determined by the size and type of the water meter purchased 8 for the property in accordance with the following table. The number of service units associated 9 with the use of compound meters is determined by the size of the largest meter installed: Meter Size (inches) 5/8 x 3/4 Service Unit Equivalents Apartments Service Units 1.0 3/4 0.5 per unit Townhouse 1.5 1 0.7 per unit Hotel/Motel/Lodging and Assisted Living 2.5 1.5 0.7 per unit 5.0 2 8.0 3 16.0 4 25.0 6 50.0 8 80.0 115.0 10 10 11 (2) Table for multifamily uses. The number of service units for multifamily uses for both water and 12 wastewater service is determined in accordance with the following table: 13 Type of Multifamily Use Service Unit Equivalents Apartments 0.5 per unit Multifamily house 0.5 per unit Townhouse 0.7 per unit Single-family attached house with two dwelling units 0.7 per unit Hotel/Motel/Lodging and Assisted Living 0.25 per unit All other multi -unit residential buildings 0.7 per unit %) 2 That the City Council has considered and hereby make the following findings regarding 3 this amendment: 4 1. It is consistent with the general plan; s 2. It advances the stated scope and purpose of the Zoning and Development 6 Code as stated in Section 1-3 of the Code; and 7 3. It advances the stated purpose of any zoning district it may affect. s 9 A. All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in conflict herewith are 10 expressly repealed. 11 B. The invalidity of any section or provision of this ordinance shall not 12 invalidate other sections or provisions thereof. 13 C.
