The police department datacenter core network is nearing 10 years old. Our aging Cisco
Catalyst 6504 switches that are in use have gone End -of -Sale from Cisco. IT is requesting to
replace our older switches with new Cisco Catalyst 9500 switches that are a smaller
form -factor, consume less power, reduce the amount of cooling required, and deliver higher
performance for critical services to the City's public safety departments including 911
integration to our CAD system, dispatch, and Mobile Computer Terminals (MCTs) in the field.
This purchase is on the FY 2019 Authorized Punccases List, Item A131.
Cost. $96,129.33
