Minutes - Regular Meeting - 10/13/1999ÐÏࡱter really means registered voter and everything. So there is a lot of State law thats already set on exactly who is eligible to fill in their name, signature on a petition. Then
it further states that the State Law is the guiding thing so that anything you might try to do for amending our City Charter. You really need to look at that State Election Law and
make sure that you are not just going down a dead end road because the State Law is going to be the predominate guiding issues for all courses and everything and I dont know if you
are aware of that.

COMMISSIONERS COMMENTS:
Commissioner Horowitz commended staff for the excellent mark up work the did in preparing this.
Commissioner Robinson said, I would like to thanked everybody, on behalf of the City, for volunteering. One of the things we heard throughout our discussion is about voter apathy and
I certainly encourage everyone that is up here volunteering their time to continue to get out and try to get people to vote. I dont what the answer is and I dont think anybody does
but we need to get more people in this community to get out to vote whether they are happy or not or unhappy or not to take their right and its not just our community, its all of
them but lets concentrate on Round Rock.
Commissioner Robinson said the next step in this process is that a report will be drafted and forwarded to the Council. He will attend the Council meeting to officially present the report
as the Commissions recommendation.
Steve Sheets noted that if any of the Commissioners wish to write their own statement on any particular item that was discussed may do so and it will be attached and included with the
report. The report will be provided to the Council in December.
It was the consensus of the Commission that no further meetings are needed.
ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:54 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
Christine Martinez
Assistant City Secretary
Charter Review Commission
