This item will authorize the City Manager to execute a change order with Partners Remodeling,
Waterproofing, and Restoration for the Frontier Park Improvement Project.
During the construction of the Frontier Park Improvement Project, areas of concrete were
identified for not meeting ADA standards and decisions to correct these areas were made in
the Feld. With the remaining project funds that can only be used at Frontier Park (Parkland
Dedication Funds), the department would like to use the remaining funds to replace existing
additional trash cans that were identified in the initial scope, but due to budgetary constraints,
PARD did not include them in the original scope. This allows PARD to not use General Funds
in the future. This change order will also remove the ADA Playground Entry Ramps from the
original scope, the plan is to do the work when PARD plans to replace the existing playground
equipment in the next year.
The Frontier Park Improvement Project 2018 contract will include the demolition of some
existing park amenities, site preparation, construction of concrete flatwork, construction of
pavilion, installation of new tennis fence and screen, installation of backstop, installation of a
walking loop, installation of various site amenities, and ADA improvements.
The park improvement will be funded through CDBG HUD Entitlement Grants and Parkland
Dedication Funds.
