WHEREAS,the City of Round Rock("City") desires to purchase a waste activated solid pump
and a return activated solid pump for the aeration basin/clarifier units at the East Wastewater
Treatment Plant; and
WHEREAS, Section 252.022(4) of the Texas Local Government states that expenditures for
items available from only one source are exempt from competitive bidding requirements; and
WHEREAS, Smith Pump Company, Inc. is the sole source provider of a waste activated solid
pump and a return activated solid pump for the East Wastewater Treatment Plant; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to issue a purchase order to Smith Pump Company, Inc. for the
purchase of a waste activated solid pump and a return activated solid pump,Now Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK,TEXAS,
That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to issue a purchase order to Smith
Pump Company, Inc. for the purchase of a waste activated solid pump and a return activated solid
pump for the aeration basin/clarifier units at the East Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and
subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was
open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter
hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act,
Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended.
RESOLVED this 8th day of August, 2019.
