The Water Treatment Plant Phases 3 & 4 - Filter Rehabilitation Project consisted of replacing
the filter media in eight filters and 40 filter butterfly valves and motorized actuators at Round
Rock's Water Treatment Plant.
During construction, it was determined that eight of the proposed actuators would not be
compatible with the existing layout. It was decided to not install the eight actuators at this time,
resulting in a savings of $73,953.40. Two additional change order items due to unexpected
field conditions offset that amount by $19,311, resulting in a net deduction of $54,642.40.
The Utility Staff recommends the City Manager to authorize Change Order No. 1 for a
$54,642.40 deduction, amending the original contract amount of $974,496.00 to $919,853.60.
