Change Order #5 Summary
Date: 10/02/2014
Change Order #t5 to the contract with PCCI includes changes to the current phase of construction. These
changes include:
Additional Backstop Support: After installation of the backstop netting at the fields, it was determined
it would be best to include additional backstop support to decrease the amount of net drift. While the
nets are tight at time of installation, the concern is that they might begin to stretch as the wind and sun
wear on them. This support is just an added measure to make sure they stay tight.
Cost: $6,457.00
Addition of Maintenance Gate: PARD team members requested an additional maintenance gate to
access the field to decrease wear and tear on the fields by constantly utilizing the same two gates during
high maintenance activities, such as top dressing.
Cost: $3,162.00
Deduction of irrigation and sod in small landscape area: Sod was intended to be installed in a very
small landscape area behind one of the dugouts. PARD team members decided this would be difficult
to maintain so the decision was made to remove this from the scope. PARD team members will install
artificial landscape turf in this area.
Cost: ($530.00)
Concrete Wall and Handrail: It was determined in the field that a portion of the concrete bleacher area
would need a turn down wall. For safety reasons, a railing was installed as well. Additional railing was
installed at a walkway where a turndown curb was installed to prevent a tripping risk.
Cost: $4,477.00
Addition of 2" water line: The 1" water line service that was originally installed was sufficient for this
phase of construction. In order to save money on any future phases of construction and to provide
flexibility, the line was upgraded to a 2" service.
Cost: $11,312.00
Field Walkway Extension: To avoid installing a ramp at the entry to the field, the walkway was
extended to create a consistent ADA accessible grade.
Cost: $1,210.00
TOTAL: $26,088.00

This Change Order to the contract with Prime Construction Company, Inc. (PCCI) includes
adding additional support wires to the backstop netting, adding a maintenance gate for an
additional entrance to the fields, and deduction of irrigation and sod in a small landscape bed
that will be converted to artificial turf. Additionally, this includes adding a concrete wall and
handrail at an area of walkway for safety purposes and extending a walkway to make it ADA
accessible. Finally this includes upsizing the water service from a 1" line to a 2" line to support
future expansion of the complex.
The Adult Recreation Complex at Old Settlers Park includes construction of two (2) lighted
recreational softball fields, a small
restroom facility, spectator seating and shade, flexible field space, and parking. This project will
serve as the first phase of the
Recreation Complex and will replace the two softball fields currently located in McNeil Park
which will be removed as part of the
Nutty Brown Development.
