R-2020-0116 - 5/14/2020 RESOLUTION NO. R-2020-0116 WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, has grant funds available to cities for various law enforcement projects, and WHEREAS, grant funds are available through the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, for the General Victim Assistance Program, and WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock finds it is in the best interest of the City that the Round Rock Police Department's Victims Services Advocate Program be expanded by two full time Victims Services Advocates and wishes to make application for the available grant funds, and WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock agrees to provide applicable matching funds for the General Victim Assistance Program as required by the Office of the Governor's grant application, and WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock agrees that in the event of loss or misuse of any Office of the Governor's grant funds awarded, the City of Round Rock will return the funds received in full, and WHEREAS, the City Council designates the City Manager as the City's authorized official with power to apply for the grant, including making an online application, on behalf of the applicant agency, the City of Round Rock, Texas, and BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, A. That the City Council approves submission of the grant application to the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, for the Round Rock Police Department General Victim Assistance Direct Services Program. 0112.20202;00445395/ss2 B. That the City Manager is designated as the authorized official apply for the grant, including making an online application, and is hereby directed to apply for the Office of the Governor's grant for the General Victim Assistance Direct Services Program, a copy of said Application being attached hereto as Exhibit"A" and incorporated herein for all purposes. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended.
