Type: City Manager Item Governing Body: City Manager Approval Agenda Date: 8/28/2020 Dept Director: Michael Thane, Utilities and Environmental Services Director Cost: $46,225.54 Indexes: Self -Financed Water Construction Attachments: CO-QA No. 2—Partial Signed, MAP Department: Utilities and Environmental Services Text of Legislative File CM-2020-223 A 16-inch waterline was constructed in 2017 with the Arterial H roadway to provide water for the newly constructed Gardens at Mayfield Ranch Subdivision. This project was the first phase of a transmission main needed to serve the City of Round Rock's 1071 pressure plane with high-pressure water from the Brushy Creek Regional Utility Authority's 48-inch transmission main. This project, the second phase of the Arterial H waterline project, consisted of constructing 4,547 linear feet (L.F.) of 16-inch high -density polyethylene waterline and 536 L.F. of 12-inch ductile iron waterline that connects to the 1071 pressure plane. The project included a connection with the City of Georgetown at the east end of the waterline that serves as an emergency interconnect for the City's 1071 pressure plane, as well as provides a delivery point for treated water from Round Rock to the City of Georgetown. At the east end of the project, an in -design wastewater line for the future development of the northwest corner of Flowstone Lane and Arterial H (New Hope Dr.) conflicted with the design elevation of our waterline creating additional depth to the excavation with 20 L.F. of additional encasement pipe needed. After construction was completed for the waterline, the Mayfield Ranch Homeowners Association and Highlands at Mayfield Ranch Holdings (HMR Holdings) requested a meeting with the City. They demanded that the re -vegetation at the entrance to the subdivision to not be City of Round Rock Page 1 Printed on 812712020 Agenda Item Summary Continued (CM-2020-223) re -seeded, but to be re -sodded as it was initially placed.
