This Supplemental Agreement No. 1 is for the Downtown Historical Water Tank - Lighting
project. The original downtown water tank, now referred to as the Downtown Historical Tank
was erected by Pittsburgh -Des Moines Steel Company (PDM) in 1936 and immediately placed
in service. It remained in service until 1986 when the Lake Creek well system and ground
storage tank were constructed. The tank is an icon of Round Rock and is visible to the entire
downtown area.
On April 5, 2019, the City Manager authorized the City to enter a contract with Hendrix
Consulting Engineers (HCE), P.C. for $40,000 to design the new lighting system that was
constructed and completed last December in time for the Christmas season. During
construction of the lighting contract with Environmental Lighting Service (ELS), it was necessary
for HCE to visit the site daily rather than "as necessary" as defined in their original contract
agreement. HCE is requesting $19,004 to cover the additional Project Managers time in the
field during installation of the lights on the tank. HCE finally submitted the additional cost
request to the City in order for us to close out the project.
Cost: $19,004
Source of Funds: Hotel Occupancy Tax Fund
