Text of Legislative File CM-2021-010
The Utilities & Environmental Services Department is requesting to purchase a wastewater manhole
scanning system from Kinloch Equipment & Supply. Currently, the Department can inspect an estimated 10
manholes per day with equipment on hand. With the addition of the manhole scanning unit, we plan to
allocate a crew to solely inspect manholes with an estimated 35-50 manholes inspected per day. This
system greatly increases the capability of not only manhole inspection, but also frees up the camera crews
to focus completely on wastewater line inspection. The IBAK Camera system uses state-of-the-art 4k video
technology that allows crews to access manhole conditions quickly and accurately. Also, the IBAK system
works seamlessly with our IT PIPES manhole inspection software, reducing time of uploads down greatly.
The Department recommends a one-time purchase of $122,746.94 for the IBAK system.
