The Round Rock Police Department maintains an active canine unit that enhances the department's overall mission. The unit has a high level of training which routinely exceeds industry standards. Members of the unit are active within the community attending numerous events with their canine partners, strengthening the relationship between the Police Department and the community we serve. The Department seeks to apply for a grant from the Greater Round Rock Community Foundation to fund one canine unit to replace a dog that recently retired from service and pay for the training of the new canine and handler. This grant is a one-time application for $10,000 in grant funding.
