This agenda item is Change Order/ Quantity Adjustment (QA/CO) No. 2 for the construction phase of the
South Interceptor Wastewater Manhole Rehabilitation project. The South Wastewater Interceptor was
constructed in 1984 and is co -owned by the City of Round Rock and the City of Austin. Recent inspections
of the South Wastewater Interceptor indicated deteriorating conditions of the manholes located along the
entire length of the wastewater line. Deteriorating manholes can lead to infiltration of water into the
wastewater line, and if left untreated, the failure of the manhole. This project consisted of the extensive
rehabilitation of 61 manholes which restored the service life of the manholes and wastewater interceptor.
This QA/CO No. 2 includes the addition of a 48-inch fiberglass insert and the deletion of an 18-inch
wastewater line, a fiberglass manhole, and the abandonment of an 18-inch wastewater line due to a field
adjustment. To accommodate production delays and fiberglass procurement issues, an additional 158 days
is necessary to complete construction. QA/CO No. 2 constitutes a credit of $61,312.33 to be given to the
City of Round Rock.
Cost: $-61,312.33
