R-2022-227 - 7/14/2022 RESOLUTION NO. R-2022-227 WHEREAS, due to the combined water volume of Lake Georgetown and Stillhouse Hollow Lake, as well as the developing drought conditions, the Brazos River Authority, the City's wholesale water supplier, has requested that the City implement its Stage I water conservation regulations; and WHEREAS, the City determined that Stage I water conservation regulations is necessary to protect the public health, safety, and welfare; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the authority conferred upon the City Manager by Section 44-223 of the Code of Ordinances (2018 Edition), the City implemented Stage I Water Conservation Regulations effective at 12:01 am on Friday, July 1 st; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to ratify the action of the City Manager to implement Stage 1 Water Conservation Regulations, Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the City Council hereby ratifies the action of the City Manager to implement Stage 1 Water Conservation Regulations. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. This action is triggered by a request from the Brazos River Authority,the City's wholesale water supplier,that the City implement its Stage I water conservation regulations. 2. 1 have determined that this action is necessary to protect the public health, safety, welfare. 3. The Stage I water conservation regulations will begin at 12:01 a.m. on Friday,July 1, 2022. 4. The Stage I water conservation regulations provide that outdoor watering is limited to twice per week as follows: Property Address Ending Number Watering Days Watering Times 4 or 8 Sunday/Thursday 0 or 3 Monday/Thursday Midnight to Noon 2, 6, or 7 Tuesday/Friday and 1, 5, or 9 Wednesday/Saturday 7:00 p.m. to Midnight 5. An offense is a class C misdemeanor, punishable by a fine not to exceed $2,000.00. 6. Pursuant to Sec. 44-233, the outdoor irrigation by hand-held hoses or hand-held buckets is permitted anytime.
