This item addresses field changes that were required during the Yonders Point Phase II project. During
construction, a portion of sidewalk associated with the new plaza created a drainage problem that was
unforeseen. To remedy the problem and assure appropriate drainage, a section of trail needed to be
demolished and raised up. Additionally, on the other side of the plaza, a small section of existing trail
needed to be demolished and repoured to achieve the appropriate slope to meet ADA guidelines where the
tie in for the new trail took place. When these area were raised, it required irrigation lines to also be raised
and modified to make sure they operate in an efficient manner. Finally, because of the heavy use of the
plaza with events, a portion of the revegetation was upgraded from seeding to sod installation.
This project will expand the amenities at Yonders Point and provide even more space for passive recreation
in Old Settlers Park. It will also create a space for new high -profile events, such as Memorial Day and
Veterans Day.
In addition to the items included in this contract, the Yonders Point Phase II project will include additional
trees and irrigation, the installation of custom artwork, and electrical service that will support larger
events, such as Light Up the Lake. That work will be completed outside this contract by separate vendors.
Cost: $42,000
Source of Funds: General Self -Finance Construction
